3. Govern Like You Manage Talent

Great employees aren't perfectly predictable either. Set clear objectives and constraints, give context, and evaluate outputs against measurable standards.

Think about your best knowledge workers. You don't micromanage their every decision or require them to explain their thought process in exhaustive detail. You:

  • Set clear goals and boundaries

  • Coach them based on performance patterns
